Union Diamond Opens 'My Perfect Union' Contest to U.S. Military

Winner Receives Platinum, Diamond Ring

Online retailer Union Diamond will award a platinum and diamond engagement ring worth $40,000 to one member of the United States Armed Forces through a contest titled ''My Perfect Union.'' Members of the military, on active duty or retired, may nominate themselves or they can be entered by friends or family members through a video and or essay  submission at

The submission period closes at 11:59 p.m. EDT on November 28, 2011. The winner will be announced on December 6 and receive a 1.02-carat, D, IF, diamond  set into a platinum Natalie K  mounting containing 0.76 carats of diamonds.

''For me, it is the perfect way to show my appreciation to the men and women who protect us. I want to hand this platinum ring to them, look them in the eyes and tell them ‘thank you’ for all that they’ve done,” said Scott Anderson, the president of Union Diamond.
