RAPAPORT... The World Diamond Council will hold its eighth general meeting on May 13 and 14, 2012 in Vicenza, Italy. Trade show operator Fiera di Vicenza will act as the  meeting's host.

Eli Izhakoff, the president of the World Diamond Council, explained that  with the Kimberley Process agreement on Zimbabwe's  Marange fields now completed, meeting attendees can  tackle other pressing matters.

''These will be discussed at length at our annual meeting, including the issue of reforming the Kimberley Process structure, of which the World Diamond Council has been a keen proponent,'' Izhakoff said. ''We are most grateful to Fiera di Vicenza for its gracious offer to host the event, and for enabling us to defend the integrity and reputation of the diamond and our industry.''
