Press Release: UBM will launch the “Delhi Jewellery & Gem Fair” (DJGF). With its two existing shows in the south and one show in the west, DJGF will now cater to the needs of the entire north and northeastern market.

The Delhi Jewellery & Gem Fair  will be a pure business-to-business (B2B) event filling the great need in northern India for this sector, much to the delight of the market that encouraged UBM to make a move up north. The show will be held for two days from September 8 to 9, 2012 at the Pragaiti Maidan, New Delhi.

The show will be extensively promoted through a huge visitor advertising campaign to reach out to the important markets in New Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and its adjoining tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Meetings with jewelry trade associations, shop-to-shop visits with retailers, press conferences will be some of the prime means of informing the gem and jewelry Industry and spreading awareness about the new show to attract retailers.

With 400-plus participants and 25,000-plus buyers and sellers attending its three shows in 2011 -- the Gems and Jewellery India International Exhibition (GJIIE), the Hyderabad Jewellery, Pearl & Gem Fair (HJF) and the recently launched Mumbai Jewellery & Gem Fair (MJGF) -- DJGF will add new prospects to the business from the gem and jewelry industry. UBM’s principle event in Hong Kong, the world’s largest jewelry event – the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair that saw 3,450 exhibitors from 46 countries and regions, greeting a total of 51,500 trade professionals from 155 countries and regions will surely be a strong foundation to help ensure that DJGF is successful from its very first edition.

Why Delhi?
Jewelry has been an integral part of Indian culture and civilization since ancient times. The jewelry market in Delhi is extremely vibrant and receptive to modern ideas and inventions. The culture of Delhi has a rich heritage and as a cosmopolitan city, it has a very multi-lingual and multi-cultural society.
