Press Release: Leibish & Co., international leaders in the natural fancy color diamond industry, is proud to be the sole ‎Israeli nominee at the prestigious Jewellery News Asia (JNA) Awards to be held at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong ‎Kong on September 20, 2012. The company’s e-commerce manager, Itzik (Yitzhak) Polnauer, has ‎been nominated in the Young Leader of the Year (age 30 or younger) category. ‎

The inaugural JNA Awards, organized in collaboration with UBM Awards, has been established to honor ‎excellence and achievement by innovators and leaders in the jewelry trade worldwide. Areas of focus ‎include manufacturing, retailing, branding, corporate social responsibility, innovation, quality, leadership, ‎and outstanding contribution.‎

Launched in 1983, JNA has been one of the leading monthly news magazines for the ‎world's jewelry trade; diamond, pearl, gemstone and jewelry-making equipment, and supplies sectors in ‎Asia. The decision, almost 30 years after its launch, to inaugurate the JNA Awards is further confirmation ‎of JNA’s status in the trade. Together with its Headline Partners, Chow Tai Fook and Rio Tinto Diamonds - ‎one of the largest producers of rough diamonds in the world, the awards promise to be a ground-breaking ‎event.‎

The JNA Awards were open to companies from all countries. Applicants for the nine categories were then ‎vetted via a rigorous screening process with only the most worthy being nominated for the final. Itzik’s co-‎nominees emanate from New Zealand and Hong Kong. Itzik is the only nominee from Israel to feature on ‎the Honoree’s List.

In the words of Benji Margolese, Leibish & Co.'s marketing and content manager, “The ‎company is overjoyed to have had Itzik make it to the shortlist for this category, especially since we truly ‎believe he deserves this award. He is not just a good manager, rather, he is a leader who has a clear ‎vision as to how to properly utilize the website, the Internet, and all social media platforms to bring ‎awareness of the beauty of 'Fancy Color Diamonds.'”‎

Itzik is 28-years-old and joined Leibish & Co. in 2006 following the completion of his BA in Business ‎Management from the College of Management. During his tenure as e-commerce manager, he has been ‎an integral part of the Leibish & Co. team that has brought the allure of fancy color diamonds to the public ‎at large. By re-designing the company website and changing its focus from being not only an e-‎Commerce website but also an educational tool for spreading the natural fancy color diamond mantra, ‎Itzik has been an advocate for the proliferation of knowledge via the Internet.‎

The evolution of Leibish & Co.’s corporate image has also been Itzik’s responsibility. Itzik has taken to the ‎challenge with his renowned energy and methodical logic. The results he has achieved thus far have ‎been truly outstanding having attracted almost 10,000 Facebook fans to a unique product unknown to ‎most people being just one example.‎

Given the relatively young nature of the Internet as a sales and marketing tool, it is possibly most ‎appropriate that the youngest member of the Leibish & Co. management team felt most comfortable ‎utilizing this powerful conduit to further the company’s goals. No doubt Itzik’s background as a ‎parachuting trainer in the army held him in good stead for the task as he has extensive knowledge of ‎keeping his head in the clouds but his feet planted firmly on the ground.‎

Itzik is not one to rest on his laurels though. To stand still is to go backwards, so Itzik is busy completely re-‎designing the company website with a planned release later on this year. New initiatives, such as the soon ‎to be launched World of Colors widget, will enable Internet users to easily share the ability to view all 12 ‎different colors, 9 intensity levels, and over 230 color combinations on real stones that Itzik single ‎handedly put together.‎

And the good news for fancy color diamond adherents, and those yet to be bitten by the bug, is that in the ‎words of Itzik, “We have only just started to teach the world about natural fancy color diamonds. Being ‎nominated for this award is a humbling experience that will provide additional impetus in driving me ‎toward my goal of making natural fancy color diamonds even more popular than their colorless ‎counterparts.” ‎

About Leibish & Co.: Established in 1979, Leibish & Co. is a family business based in the diamond capital ‎of Tel Aviv, Israel. As a pioneer in the fancy color diamond industry, Leibish & Co. were among the first ‎online retailers of fancy color diamonds further facilitating access to this burgeoning market. Their ‎website, http://www.fancydiamonds.net, has further enhanced Leibish & Co.’s reputation for integrity and ‎service.‎
