RAPAPORT... Organizers of the 35th World Diamond Congress (WDC) extended the date for general registration until September 30, following  numerous requests for more time.

The general registration fee of $750, with an accompanying person fee of $500, will be in effect until September 30. A late fee of  $100 will be applicable beginning October 1 and registration will close on October 7.  (Register here.)

Ronnie VanderLinden, the secretary general of the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA), thanked the meeting's hosts, the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council and the Bharat Diamond Bourse, for extending the date.

''As the diamond business communities in Belgium, Israel and elsewhere came back from their summer leave only toward the end of August, many delegates had not yet been able to register and make their travel arrangements. At the same time, we are urging all delegates and participants to the 35th World Diamond Congress to  register and  book their rooms as soon as possible,'' VanderLinden stated.
