RAPAPORT... The World Gold Council (WGC) recently launched “Azva” wedding jewelry collection in the southern Indian city of Chennai, inspired by seven vows of the Indian wedding tradition.

“We are delighted to present a collection of innovative designs that represents every couple’s unique story of togetherness, crafted in gold,” said David Lamb, WGC’s managing director. “Azva will appeal most strongly to young modern Indian couples between ages of 23 and 30 who appreciate and have taste for fine designs.”

Crafted in 22-karat gold, the jewelry pieces include exquisite necklaces, earrings and bracelets all of which showcase the idea of seven, the council stated. The collection ranges from 70 grams to more than 300 grams of gold per set. Married celebrity couple Prasanna and Sneha (pictured second and third from left) was present at the launch occasion.

“Prasanna and Sneha are the epitome of love, romance and togetherness – all that Azva stands for. Each set comprised of necklace, earrings and bracelet is handcrafted with unique designs reflecting concept of seven beautifully and has hallmark certification,” said Vipin Sharma (pictured first from left), the director of jewelry at WGC.

WGC  partnered with Chennai’s leading jewelry retailers -- GRT Jewellers, Joy Alukkas, Khazana Jewellery, Malabar Gold, NAC Jewellery, Nathella Sampathu Jewellery and Prince Jewellery-- to sell Azva wedding jewelry at their outlets.
