RAPAPORT... East West Micro (EWM) Corp. of Hong Kong, a maker of health monitoring hardware, debuts its gold and diamond smartwatch at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.  EWM crafted its latest creation, which includes its patented vital sign tracker (VST) Sensor Engine, in 18-karat gold with 200 diamond accents for a retail price of $30,000.
VST enables the health smartwatch to perform a number of measurements, including body sensors, multi-cardiac monitoring, temperature and activity, all of which can be streamed through a wireless network, in addition to mobile call and text display technology. EWM will also show its $49 and $99 health smartwatches in a variety of colors, mix-and-match styles and the same features, based on its VST products.
