Press Release: The Israeli diamond industry will serve as one of the main pillars of Jewellery & Gem Fair Europe, a new UBM trade show that is set to take place in Freiburg, Germany from April 1 to 4, 2014. The show, which is planned to overlap with BaselWorld and which will attract buyers, will feature diamonds, gemstones and jewelry.

The Israel diamond pavilion, organized by the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) Group of Companies, will be located at a prime location at the entrance to the show in Hall 1 – 3 in Messe Freiburg. There will be 30 Israeli companies exhibiting in the pavilion and an additional five companies in other locations at the show.

The pavilion will feature the new “Find Your Diamond” system, which enables buyers to search the inventory of all the Israeli exhibitors in the show, to find the exact diamonds they are seeking. The proprietary system, developed by IDI especially for trade shows, has proved extremely beneficial to both buyers and exhibitors.

IDI's managing director, Eli Avidar, praised UBM for initiating the new show. “We're hoping that if this show takes off, it can offer Israeli diamond companies an alternative to BaselWorld, which over the years has become a less appropriate venue for diamantaires.”

IDI's chief marketing officer, Nissim Palomo, said, “We expect that UBM will leverage the location of the exhibition and that beyond the buyers who come to Basel, the show will attract many buyers from throughout Europe. The first impression is the most important one and we believe that UBM will do everything to make this show a success.”
