RAPAPORT... India's Office of The Trade Marks Registry approved three trademarks under the Class 14 description for diamond and jewelry company Gitanjali Gems Ltd. The trademark "Gitanjali Jewels" was approved on December 22 with registration number 2235383. In addition, the trademark "Gitanjali Group" was approved with registration number 2235381 and "Gitanjali Trust Forever" was trademarked with registration number 2235385 on December 22.
The company stated that all three terms have been in use by the firm since July 1, 2011.
The Gitanjali Group was founded in Surat in 1966 to cut and polish diamonds, but over the years, it grew into a major diamond and jewelry company. The group operates numerous brands and retail outlets.
