RAPAPORT... The third edition of the China Coloured Gems Buyer-Seller Meet, which is organized by India's Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and China Gems Center, is scheduled for January 15 and 16, 2015 at the Shawan Jewelry Industrial Park at Panyu, Guangzhou. It marks the first time the meeting will be held in China as the first two editions took place in Jaipur, India. This is also the first time that the China Gems Center is associating itself with GJEPC to hold the meeting. The event is expected to attract 15 companies from India -- the majority of which hail from Jaipur. Rajiv Jain, the former chairman of the GJEPC, has been a great advocate of making Jaipur the center of colored gemstone trading with the latest in manufacturing and technology to churn out the best gemstones and jewelry.
Speaking with Rapaport News, Vipul Shah, the current chairman of the GJEPC, said, “This is an important event being organized to boost the colored gemstones industry in India and it is a part of the various promotional activities undertaken by the council for the industry over all. The meet is expected to also strengthen the country’s direct export of gemstones to China.”
Shah added, “We are expecting more than 100 Chinese companies to attend the meeting." The companies traveling from India to China are Amiable Jewellery Pvt. Ltd., Gems and Jewels, IGM Exports Pvt. Ltd., K.K.Gems Trading Company, K.L.Tambi &Co., Kala Gems Exports, Lord Image, Pihu Gems, Rajratan Exports, S.K. Enterprises, Satyam Gems, Sheru Gems, Shree Krishnan Exports and Singhal Gems.
