RAPAPORT... Jewelers of America (JA) will offer its sales and management professional certification exams at four upcoming U.S. trade shows. The certification is centered around two-hour exams that evaluate the proficiency of jewelry professionals on two levels:
First level JA Certified Sales Professional (CSP) JA Certified Management Professional (CMP)
Second level JA Certified Senior Sales Professional (CSSP) JA Certified Senior Management Professional (CSMP)
Test takers are not required to study, JA noted, as the certification attests to existing expertise in sales and/or management. The certifications are open to all jewelry professionals. JA does also offer the certification tests at any time and location through a prearranged proctored exam. In addition, JA offers a professional certification program for bench professionals in four levels of expertise.
“In today’s competitive landscape, we are striving to make it easier for jewelers to get the valuable tools they need to gain consumer confidence and keep the jewelry industry vibrant and healthy,” said JA's president and CEO, David J. Bonaparte. “I strongly encourage retailers to get their staff certified. The benefits from Jewelers of America professional certification will far exceed the minimal amount of time and small monetary commitment put into the exam.” The sales and management certification exams will be available at the following locations and times:
