RAPAPORT...  Firoz Merchant, the founder and chairman of Pure Gold Jewellers, was ranked at 25 on Forbes' list of Top 100 Indian Business Leaders in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. In addition to overseeing Pure Gold Jewellers, he is a board member of the Dubai Diamond Exchange.

“It is a great honor to be recognized by Forbes and to share the platform with Indian business leaders in the GCC who have contributed to the economic growth of this region. I believe there is no easy formula to success, but hard work, determination and belief in yourself can get you into places you could only once dream of. We have expanded from a single store in Dubai to 125 stores across 12 countries in three continents and we aim to keep our family growing with 450 outlets worldwide by 2020. Our pivotal objective is to become a global entity,”  Merchant said.

Merchant has repatriated insolvent prisoners in United Arab Emirates (UAE)  by paying off their debt or airfare and his other charitable concerns include the Red-Crescent Society, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Chartiable Trust, Bait-ul-Khair, UAE Education Ministry, UAE Health Ministry and Zakat Fund Abu Dhabi .
