RAPAPORT... Jewelers for Children contributed  $25,000 to Save the Children’s Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund in  support of disaster relief  efforts.

“While the industry does not do a substantial amount of work in Nepal, the board of directors felt the tragedy affecting so many children was worthy of our support,"  said Ruth Batson, Jewelers for Children's board chair. "Our generous industry has once again stepped up to help in a crisis where children are involved.”

Save the Children has benefited from Jewelers for Children's donations in the past,  following the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the earthquake in Haiti, the 2011 tsunami in Japan and the recent Ebola crisis.

Jewelers for Children was founded in 1999 by the U.S. jewelry industry with the mission of helping children and has donated over $48 million to programs benefiting children whose lives have been affected by illness, abuse or neglect through charity partners St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Make-A-Wish America, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the National CASA Association.
