RAPAPORT... Reed Exhibitions, part of RELX Group, acquired Jewelers International Showcase (JIS), which hosts three annual business-to-business events -- one each in January, April and October -- for jewelry retailers at the Miami Beach Convention Center.  The JIS Events will join the JCK Events in Reed Exhibitions' U.S. jewelry portfolio.
"This is an exciting opportunity to expand our jewelry portfolio, offering our customers broader reach to retailers in the Caribbean and Latin American markets. The JIS Events offer a unique opportunity for buying and will continue to deliver enhanced customer value and a broader pool of retailers in this growing market," said Yancy Weinrich, the senior vice president of JCK Events.

Jordan Tuchband, the vice president of sales and operations at JIS Events, will join Reed Exhibitions as industry vice president for JIS. Tuchband has led the JIS  team for 10 years and will continue to lead the sales and marketing efforts, according to the statement. Tuchband said, "JIS' product range covers all price points, from high-end designers to popular and most of the products on the show floor represent middle and higher price points, which are ideal for the retail audience that JIS attracts. There is something for every type of retailer at JIS, including independent stores that place lower volume orders. JIS also allows the immediate delivery of jewelry, which eliminates a long wait for retailers to have product delivered."

Reed Exhibitions currently runs the Maison & Objet in Miami, in addition to nearly 500 events across 43 countries, serving 43 industry sectors.
