RAPAPORT... Christie’s will auction a ruby and diamond ring for an estimated $12 million to $15 million at its Magnificent Jewels sale in New York on April 20.

The oval-shaped, 15.99-carat 'Jubilee Ruby' within a circular-cut diamond and polished gold surround is signed Verdura. It is the “most important ruby of its caliber to be offered for sale at auction in the U.S. for over twenty five years,” Christie’s said in a note on its website.

Other lots at the auction include a cushion modified brilliant-cut, 10.07-carat, fancy intense purple-pink diamond ring, estimated at $8 million to $12 million.

The auctioneer will also offer a round brilliant-cut, 40.43-carat, D-color, flawless diamond estimated at $7 million to $10 million.
