RAPAPORT... Alrosa vice president Andrey Polyakov will leave the company after 13 years, the miner said Thursday.

Polyakov (pictured) joined Alrosa in 2004 as an adviser to the CEO of Alrosa Investment Group, a subsidiary of the Russia-based diamond producer. He headed Alrosa’s corporate-communications department from 2007 to 2013, at which point he became vice president, responsible for external relations, client policy and marketing.

He also resigned as president of the World Diamond Council, the trade organization said last week. He will leave Alrosa “in the near future,” the miner added.

“I accepted Polyakov’s request to continue his career outside the company, since all of the most important tasks and projects he was working on in recent years have been successfully accomplished and implemented,” said Alrosa president Sergey Ivanov.

“Alrosa is grateful to Andrey Polyakov for his contribution to the development of the company. I am confident that his knowledge and experience will be in demand in other major projects that he plans to deal with,” he concluded.
