RAPAPORT... Louis Vuitton has appointed Francesca Amfitheatrof artistic director of watches and jewelry, the luxury retailer said Monday.

Amfitheatrof (pictured) will be in charge of creating jewelry and high-jewelry collections, as well as overseeing all Louis Vuitton watch designs.

“It is with great excitement that I join Louis Vuitton, a house I feel deeply connected to through its values of craftsmanship and travel,” she said.

She previously worked as chief artistic officer at Tiffany & Co., where she was its first female design director. She left the jeweler last year to pursue other opportunities, with Reed Krakoff succeeding her. Amfitheatrof has also created accessory lines for Marni, as well as a jewelry line and other products for Chanel.
