RAPAPORT... Sylvie Ritter has stepped down as managing director of Baselworld, with Michel Loris-Melikoff set to succeed her, the event’s organizer said.

Ritter (pictured), who has been with show owner MCH Group for 26 years, has headed the annual watch and jewelry fair for the last 15 years.

“She has shaped and directed Baselworld with great passion and professionalism,” said René Kamm, CEO of MCH. “We very much regret her departure.”

Loris-Melikoff, who will take over from Ritter on July 1, has been director of MCH Beaulieu Lausanne, an MCH-owned exhibition center in Lausanne, Switzerland, since 2015. He previously managed an event agency, and was managing director of St. Jakobshalle, a Basel venue for sports and concerts.

“We are pleased to have found a very competent successor,” Kamm added.

MCH will expand the Baselworld organizing team and introduce new initiatives to enhance the event, Loris-Melikoff said.
