New Online Jewelry Marketplace Opens

RAPAPORT... Markette Six has launched as a secure online platform for trading new and pre-owned jewelry, watches and gems.
The website — founded by Justin and Heather Knapp (pictured) — is
currently live for retailers and jewelers to begin listing items for sale, and
will open to the buying public in July.
All products listed undergo an examination by a Markette Six
independent graduate gemologist for authentication purposes, a company spokesperson said. Any items buyers return are reexamined to ensure they are still in the same condition in which
they were bought.
“We’re introducing a simple and trustworthy solution to
those looking to sell and buy fine jewelry,” Justin Knapp said recently. “We
strive to create a fair and transparent marketplace that mutually benefits both
buyers and sellers, and that is easy to use, with no hidden fees.”
Markette Six operates in more than 20 countries, and sellers
can target buyers from specific international markets. There is no penalty for
removing a listing from the site, and sellers will earn 85% of final sales
prices for each item sold, the company said.
