RAPAPORT... A new show will launch in New York in November, covering jewelry-related topics and providing an inside look at products made, designed, produced and sold in the state.

NYC Jewelry Week (NYCJW) is a seven-day experience featuring educational programming, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, tours and collaborations within the New York jewelry community, its organizers said. One of the exhibitions will explore how social media, especially Instagram, is giving the public a new perspective on artists’ studios.

The show is the creation of Bella Neyman, an independent curator and journalist specializing in contemporary jewelry, and JB Jones, a fashion editor with a focus on jewelry. In 2017, the two co-curated Placement, the first “street art x art” jewelry exhibition.

“New York City exists at an enviable intersection between all aspects of the jewelry world,” said Erin Daily, co-founder of Brooklyn Metal Works and a participant in the event. “The benefit of NYCJW is to give all of these voices a platform. Bringing a cohesive event to New York will strengthen the field and give the appreciators, collectors and general public an opportunity to view jewelry from a vantage point yet unseen.”

The fair will take place from November 12 to 18.
