RAPAPORT... Production from the Kimberley mining operations in South Africa will come to Antwerp for tender following Petra Diamonds’ sale of the asset.

Until now, Petra only offered the goods for sale in South Africa. The company offloaded its 76% stake in the project to Ekapa Mining for $22 million last month in order to focus on its core assets.

Koin International will facilitate the initial sale of more than 66,000 carats of rough weighing 0.75 carats and below, as well as 10.8-carat stones and higher. Viewings will take place in Antwerp in late August and early September, Koin said Tuesday. Production from other companies’ mines will feature at the same tender.
