RAPAPORT... Gem Diamonds has appointed Mazvi Maharasoa, the former head of its Letšeng mining operation in Lesotho, as a non-executive director for the group, it reported Monday.

Maharasoa has more than 20 years of senior-management experience, including at Letšeng Diamonds, where she was CEO from 2009 to 2017. She was also the founder and president of the Lesotho Chamber of Mines, and has served as senior legal counsel at both the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Central Bank of Lesotho. Her new role took effect Monday.

“We…are confident that her skills and experience in the fields of mining and resources and corporate governance will add great value to the board,” said Gem Diamonds chairman Harry Kenyon-Slaney.
