RAPAPORT... As the year comes to an end, members of the Rapaport editorial team reflect on the holiday season, delve into the dynamics of the antique-jewelry market, and look back at their favorite “diamond” moments of 2021.

Three trends have characterized the peak selling season so far, notes News Editor Joshua Freedman, Editor in Chief Sonia Esther Soltani and Senior Analyst Avi Krawitz in the latest episode of the Rapaport Diamond Podcast.

The team also dissects some of the factors driving the craze for antique jewelry, including a look at the latest Sotheby’s New York auction, which featured the Tiffany Medusa necklace, as well as dynamics in the rough market. In addition, Avi reports back from his eventful trip to Angola.

Finally, Joshua, Sonia and Avi pick their favorite stories of the year: Joshua’s is quite unreal.
