RAPAPORT... The Taiwan Jewellery & Gem Fair will be held from November 21 to 24 at the Taipei World Trade Centre, Hall 1. This year's exhibition will feature a "Designers' Area" to highlight 40 of the latest, outstanding jewelry designers, according to show organizer, UBM Asia Ltd.
The current jewelry trend in Taiwan is to combine Oriental flavor with Western quintessence, so many of the nation's designers are creating designs that tap Chinese culture and modern aesthetics. UBM noted that the craftsmanship is highly developed and sophisticated, blending the designers' infinite inspiration and innovative creativity.
Some notable designers include, Chin-Tiao Shih of Atlen Jewelry Co.; Wang Yueh Yaw, who uses diamonds, jade and 18-karat gold; Judie Ma of Dynasty Artistic Jewellery Co. Ltd. and Chun Ting Chang, who revived the traditional jadeite bangle as a watch. This business-to-business jewelry trade show will also feature group pavilions from Taiwan, India, Israel, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, Italy, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand and U.S., in addition to a "Splendid Square" to showcase loose diamonds, fine jewelry and other exclusive products.
