Every woman fantasizes about wearing a dazzling diamond tiara. The origins of the tiara date back to the ancient Greeks and Romans who wore floral or foliage wreaths around their heads to symbolize learning, victory or love. These wreaths morphed into gold headwear using the same botanical themes and continued to evolve with time as gemstones and other motifs were added. Tiaras reached a crescendo of popularity in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries as every well-dressed society woman wore them as a symbol of wealth and rank. Today jeweled fantasies come true as the tiara tradition continues with easy-to-wear rings and bracelets inspired by these ornate headpieces.
