RAPAPORT... ALROSA's 24th international rough diamond auction came in at $38.4 million and the company sold all lots offered. ALROSA sold 131 lots consisting of a total of 17,000 carats. The largest diamond weighed 229.11cts, and 12 were larger than 50cts.
ALROSA's 25th international auction begins shortly and viewing starts September 25.
According to our records, ALROSA's auction total --from seven sales during calendar year 2007-- stands at $168.7 million. In 2006 ALROSA auctioned $216 million from a total of eight sales.
