The New York Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) and the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) partnered for ''Israel Week'' in Manhattan to boost diamond trading between the two major centers. IDE's managing director, Moti Besser, and DDC's president, Reuven Kaufman, both said the event proved successful, especially at this point in time when diamond trading is seasonally slow. Diamond dealers from New York and Ramat Gan filled the club to capacity this week in order to network, build new partnerships and buy and sell goods. Meanwhile, on the retail side of the diamond business, diamond brand Ritani launched its new ''Ritani Reserve Diamonds,'' which are certified by AGS Laboratories with a patented technology to show maximum sparkle. Stones from the Ritani Reserve Diamonds collection are graded by the AGS Lab as demonstrating exceptional sparkle characteristics and for exhibiting the highest possible fire and flash scintillation characteristics, as measured through the AGS Lab Scintillation Report.  “Everyone shopping for a diamond wants sparkle, but unlike any of the four C’s, sparkle has always been the subjective aspect of the purchase process,” said Brian Watkins, the president of Ritani. “With the new AGS Lab Scintillation Report, Ritani is able to quantify and guarantee that Ritani Reserve Diamonds sparkle brilliantly.” The science behind the Scintillation Report represents the culmination of 10 years of intensive research and development work by AGS, resulting in multiple patents, peer reviewed publications and cut-grade related products.
