RAPAPORT... Paris news agencies are reporting that two armed men robbed the De Beers boutique  located at Le Printemps Haussmann of $2.6 million to $4 million (EUR 2 million to EUR 3 million) in diamonds and jewelry. The robbery took place about 6:45 p.m. local time -- stores typically close in the shopping center at  8 p.m. on Tuesdays.

TFI News said both men brandished handguns during the crime. AFP reported that the men may have been wearing wigs and carried semi-automatic weapons and wore bullet-proof vests.  The robbers allegedly forced a saleswoman to open the diamonds cases, they grabbed the stones and jewelry and fled the store through a rear exit, according to AFP.

Police reported that employees remained calm during the ordeal and that no one was injured. The shopping center was crowded at the time and it was reported that few if any onlookers even realized the robbery had just taken place.  Paris police are investigating the crime.
