Press Release: The International Gemological Institute (IGI), the world's largest independent gem certification and appraisal institute, reported the success of their exclusive initiative the ''IGI D-Show,'' a three day buyer–seller and knowledge meet that took place between June 22 to 24, 2013.

The aim of this exciting new development is to facilitate communication within the industry. The first such show was organized by IGI in Hyderabad. This time, the event took place in New Delhi in the presence of well-known market players and luminaries from the jewelry industry.

While researching the tremendous untapped potential of the North India jewelry market, IGI observed the need to facilitate buyer-seller interactions, aimed at the future development of the gemstone market in the region. The idea is to bring together like-minded people who offer IGI certified jewelry or loose diamonds with jewelers who trust IGI certification in order to interact and establish long term business goals.

This three-day event had India's most renowned jewelry and diamond manufacturers showcase their designs and diamond inventories for retailers of the North. The knowledge fair had some exclusive seminars for participants and offered insights on vital information jewelers should keep in mind while buying and selling. This in turn empowers them to face challenges in the gems and jewelry industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Tehmasp Printer, managing director of IGI, said,  "The IGI D-Show – Buyer Seller Knowledge Meet is an innovative concept, designed to facilitate communication within the Industry. Our second show, in the city of New Delhi, has been a huge success. It gives me great satisfaction to see the participants thrilled with the arrangements, quality meetings and the response they have received. We look forward to building on this property, with regular events across cities for the benefit of the overall Indian diamond industry. We had a truly successful show, as the retailers from Central and North India shook hands with manufacturers from across the country and built new contacts and laid the foundations for new and exciting business opportunities. IGI intends to continue serving the industry and organize the D-Show in various other parts of the country."

Manufacturers from across the country were present for the event. Prominent among these were Amore Jewels, Binnys Designer Diamond Jewellery, Design Creation, H.V.
