Petra Hires Internally for CFO and COO Roles

RAPAPORT... Petra Diamonds has appointed Jacques Breytenbach as its
chief financial officer and Koos Visser as chief operating officer effective
June 30.
Breytenbach has been Petra’s finance manager for
operations since 2006 and joined the miner from Anglo Platinum, where he held
various positions, including finance
manager for capital projects.
Visser, meanwhile, has held the role of group operations
manager at Petra since 2005. Prior to the joining the company, he
held several roles at Impala Platinum, including utilities and technical
services manager.
The appointments follow David Abery's decision
to step down as finance director “to pursue other opportunities” after 13 years in the role.
Abery (pictured) will continue to be available to the company in an advisory capacity as part of the succession process, Petra said.
