RAPAPORT... The American Gem Society (AGS) will honor senior Gemological
Institute of America (GIA) gemologist James Shigley with its Lifetime Achievement
Award later this year.
Shigley, a distinguished research fellow at the GIA (pictured), will
receive the accolade at the AGS’s annual Circle of Distinction dinner in New
York on July 25, the AGS said Monday.
In addition, Myriam Gumuchian, co-owner of the Gumuchian
brand, and Peter Engel, president of Fred Meyer Jewelers, will both receive the
AGS Triple Zero at the event.
