RAPAPORT... Blue Nile has appointed Target executive Jason Goldberger as
CEO to replace Harvey Kanter, four months after the online diamond retailer’s
acquisition by a private-equity group.
Goldberger (pictured) has 20 years’ experience in senior positions at e-commerce
groups, including Amazon, Blue Nile said last week. He was most recently chief
digital officer and president of Target.com, overseeing digital strategy and
execution for the discount store. Kanter — who has been CEO for five years — will hand over the position
to Goldberger on Monday and remain at the company as chairman.
An investor group consisting of Bain Capital Private Equity,
Bow Street and Adama Partners bought Blue Nile for about $500 million in
February. |
