RAPAPORT... True North Gems of Canada and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) will sponsor the 18th Canadian Gemological Association Annual Gem Conference in Vancouver from October 19-21, 2007.

Nicholas Houghton, direct of True North Gems, said they were honored to be invited and to sponsor the event, which will give the junior specialty explorer the opportunity to present its discovery program to the GIA Canadian Alumni. "It gives us the opportunity to showcase, in particular, some of the polished as well as rough rubies and pink sapphires from our Fiskenaesset property in Greenland," he said.

The private event includes a series of presentations by various invitees from across the gemological world, culminating with the awards dinner for the 2007 graduates.

True North Gems  is engaged in the exploration and development of North American colored gemstone prospects.  The company is a pioneer in colored gemstone exploration and owns the Yukon-based Tsa da Glisza emerald property and the Baffin sapphire property located on Baffin Island and the rights to earn full interest in the Fiskenaesset ruby and pink sapphire property in Greenland.
