Diamond Industry Mourns the Passing of Isak Trau

RAPAPORT... Isak Trau, the former head of diamond manufacturer Trau Bros., passed away late Friday ‎afternoon, October 12, 2012.  ‎

Building on his father Chaim Trau’s signature Rose Cut, Isak and his brother Charles built the ‎company’s reputation in the 1930’s, specializing in cutting fancy shape diamonds, particularly ‎ovals and marquise. Together, they secured a De Beers Diamond Trading Company (DTC) ‎sight in 1947, which the company still has today.  ‎

Trau is survived by his wife René, son Henri, daughter Viviane, and numerous grandchildren ‎and great grandchildren. The funeral took place on Sunday in Jerusalem.‎
