RAPAPORT... Isak Trau, the former head of diamond manufacturer Trau Bros., passed away late Friday afternoon, October 12, 2012. Building on his father Chaim Trau’s signature Rose Cut, Isak and his brother Charles built the company’s reputation in the 1930’s, specializing in cutting fancy shape diamonds, particularly ovals and marquise. Together, they secured a De Beers Diamond Trading Company (DTC) sight in 1947, which the company still has today. Trau is survived by his wife René, son Henri, daughter Viviane, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral took place on Sunday in Jerusalem.
