Tolkowsky, Ankit Gems, Faberge Receive Trademark Approvals

RAPAPORT... The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) assigned the trademark ''The Name That Changed Diamonds Forever'' to Jean Paul Tolkowsky of Belgium with the registration number 4420890 on October 22. Tolkowsky filed for trademark status for the term on December 12, 2012.

''The Name That Changed Diamonds Forever'' applies to diamond jewelry, gemstones, diamonds and jewelry made of (or coated with) precious metals and their alloys, according to the filing.

In India, the Office of The Trade Marks Registry approved ''CANADIANFIRE'' on October 7 for Ankit Gems of Mumbai with the trademark number 1938222. The description of the mark was "diamonds" and it falls under Class 14 trademark classification. The application was filed on March 18, 2010.

Additionally, the Office of The Trade Marks Registry in India assigned ''Diamonds of the Tsars'' to Faberge Ltd. of George Town, Cayman Islands with the trademark number 1617281 under Class 14. The term has been in use since November 2007 and covers precious metals and their alloys, homological and chronometric instruments, precious stones, unwrought and semi-wrought precious stones and polished gemstones used in jewelry,  figurines and objects of art.
