RAPAPORT... The Uchihara Group will open a store in Ginza, Japan, and launch a new brand of jewelry at more affordable prices
than its signature SA Birth collection.
The new line — SA Birth Ginza —
is a reinvented version of the original brand, which is sourced from southern
African countries, including Botswana, South Africa and Lesotho, the company
said Monday.
Uchihara will launch the label when it opens its store in
Japan’s most sought-after shopping destination for Asian tourists, it added.
The three-floor location will focus on the concept of the universe,
and will feature a bridal collection as well as high-end diamond and jewelry
collections that are more design-oriented, fashionable and affordable, Uchihara
noted.
The Ginza store is located next to Royal Asscher’s Ginza
shop, which Uchihara opened in partnership with the jeweler last year.
