RAPAPORT... De Grisogono has opened a larger boutique on New York’s
Madison Avenue, reflecting demand for a broader range of products, the Swiss
luxury jeweler said.
“By expanding our footprint in the US, we’ve created a
destination for our highly discerning clients to experience the world of De
Grisogono,” said Lisa Klein, president of De Grisogono USA.
Lisa and David Klein took over management of De Grisogono
USA earlier this year in a partnership deal that the jeweler carried out as a tool
for expansion in the American market. The brand has 16 boutiques across the
world, including in Geneva, London and Paris. Its existing store on Madison
Avenue will close in the coming weeks.
De Grisogono, which creates high-end jewelry, recently cut a
404.20-carat rough diamond from the Lulo mine in Angola into a 163.41-carat
polished that sold for $33.7 million at Christie’s earlier this month. It also bought the 813-carat Constellation rough diamond last year.
