Kerala Gem & Jewellery Show Begins December 1

RAPAPORT... The fifth edition of the Kerala Gem & Jewellery Show (KGJS) will kick off on December 1, at Lu Lu International Convention Centre in Thrissur, Kerala.
More than 8,000 trade visitors from India and overseas are expected to attend the three-day business-to-business jewelry show, which is organized by ''The Art of Jewellery'' magazine. Two special delegations are also coming from Gujarat state and Dubai.
India's finest jewelry manufacturers, wholesalers, machinery and tools suppliers from Thrissur, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Rajkot, Ahmadabad, Chennai and Bangalore will display their latest products, designs and the widest range of innovations on more than 225 booths at KGJS 2012.
Educational seminars and workshops are also scheduled during the show. In addition, a jewelry awards night will also be held to recognize excellence in the gems and jewelry sector.
KGJS 2012 is presented by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Kerala and supported by trade groups such as AKGSMA, JMA, KJF, Dubai City of Gold, Gemological Institute of America, GSI, IJE, ACME Infinity and RapNet.
Kerala is one of the leading destinations in the country for manufacturing and retailing gold jewelry, thanks to the ever-increasing demand for the yellow metal and overall economic growth in the state. Directly or indirectly, about 200,000 people in Kerala are involved in gold jewelry business.
