RAPAPORT... Pandora and Warner Bros. will partner on a Harry
Potter-inspired collection, featuring iconic characters and symbols from the
films.
The line will comprise 12 hand-finished products, including
charms, pendants and a bracelet, designed by Francesco Terzo and Filippo
Ficarelli, Pandora’s vice presidents and creative directors. It will launch on
November 28 in Pandora stores globally, as well as online.
“Harry Potter has brought joy and a belief in magic to
generations, and Pandora fans have asked for this collection for years,”
Stephen Fairchild, Pandora’s chief creative and brand officer, said Wednesday.
While Pandora has been introducing initiatives to appeal to
younger consumers, the Harry Potter line is not specifically targeted at a youthful
audience, Pandora explained.
“Harry Potter fans span generations,” a spokesperson for the
Danish jeweler told Rapaport News Thursday.
The retailer recently unveiled Millie Bobby Brown, a 15-year-old film-and-television star, as its brand ambassador, a move it believes will
spark cross-generational consumer interest.
“It is correct that Millie Bobby Brown appeals to a young
audience, but we believe the partnership will also generate a ‘halo effect’
toward the more mature consumers and refresh the brand perception generally,”
the spokesperson added.
