RAPAPORT... Ahead of the Hong Kong Jewellery show and other autumn events, security consultant ISPS is warning that while thieves have a tendency to act in the first few hours of an
exhibition, clients should not let down their vigilance, according to CEO Itay Hendel.
Exhibitors
should practice preventive behaviors during an exhibition to thwart theft or
switching events at their booth. These include maintaining awareness levels as criminals
check this from outside the booth. “Let them choose someone else as a target,”
Hendel said. Also, when unknown clients arrive at your booth, increase your
awareness and make sure you are not distracted, he said.
“Control, this
is the key word,” according to Hendel. “Don’t let anyone step into your booth
or touch your merchandise without your permission.”
