With their delicate, opalescent wings, colorful bodies and dramatic size, dragonflies conjure visions of Victorian gardens. Dragonflies are symbols of prosperity and harmony in China, power and victory in Japan and to the Native Americans, they represent swiftness, illusion and change. Irish folklore associates these magnificent creatures with the fairy kingdom, believing that dragonflies are the steeds of the fairies. Always a favorite design motif, jeweled dragonflies are sure to delight wherever they land.
