OroAmerica Acquires Jerry Prince, Inc.

(JNS©…NY, Oct. 30, 1997) Jewelry designer, manufacturer, and distributor, OroAmerica, announced recently that it has acquired Jerry Prince, Inc. (JPI), a San Diego-based jewelry manufacturer and distributor. JPI, which has approximately $14 million in sales for the current fiscal year, specializes in the manufacture and distribution of fine gold and silver jewelry, including necklaces, earrings, bracelets, pendants, charms, and specialty items. According to President and CEO Guy Benhamou, OroAmerica, which produces more than 1800 lines of gold and silver jewelry products, sees the acquisition as complementing its existing business operations and growth strategy. "With the consolidation pressure that is now taking place in our industry, JPI offers us increased opportunities for market penetration and added volume and enhances our distribution capabilities and relationships with major customers such as J.C. Penney."
