RAPAPORT... Watches of Switzerland has appointed David Hurley as deputy CEO of the company and president of its North America segment.

Hurley, who joined the luxury watchmaker in 2015, was previously executive vice president of the US division. His promotion “reflects the importance of the US market to the growth plans of the group,” the UK-based retailer said Monday.

The company’s acquisition of the Mayors chain in 2017 was under Hurley’s leadership, as was the opening of its first US store in New York in 2018, the company noted. Across the US, Watches of Switzerland now operates 20 locations under its own name as well as 12 Mayors shops and three Betteridge boutiques. It has plans for further expansion in the country.

In addition, Craig Bolton, executive director of the company’s UK division, has been named president of Watches of Switzerland UK and Europe, while Chabi Nouri, former CEO of luxury jewelry and watch company Piaget, will join the board.

“Chabi has outstanding luxury retail experience, particularly in the watch and jewelry sector,” said Watches of Switzerland CEO Brian Duffy. “I am certain we will benefit greatly from her knowledge and perspective. I would like to congratulate David and Craig on their respective appointments. Our management structure continues to develop in response to, and in anticipation of, our business development. I look forward to working with them as we continue to execute our long-range plan.”
