RAPAPORT... International Diamond Laboratories (IDL) appointed Samit Bhatta as its general manager for India & Middle East.
IDL is orienting itself toward retail for which Bhatta's experience is a superior fit, accorrding to Peter Meeus, CEO of IDL. Bhatta served as sales and marketing manager of the Diamond Trading Company India, and was general manager of sales and marketing at Damas.
Bhatta will lead IDL into the world’s third and fourth largest diamond markets (India and Middle East) both of which are currently experiencing strong economic growth and a rapidly developing middle class for diamond goods.
"Samit's comprehensive understanding of the diamond consumer added with his retail management skills will be an asset for his role at International Diamond Laboratories," said Tawhid Abdullah, managing director of Damas.
