Botswana's Diamond Exports -42% in April

RAPAPORT... Botswana’s diamond exports slumped 42 percent year on year to $173.8 million in ‎April ‎‎2012, ‎according to figures released by the Bank of Botswana. During the first four months ‎of the year, the ‎country’s diamond exports declined by 30 percent to $1 billion.  ‎

The bank’s data is a representative sample of the country's full diamond trade and ‎is ‎sourced ‎from the Diamond Trading Company Botswana, Leo Schachter ‎Botswana, ‎Teemane ‎Manufacturing Co., and the Central Statistics Office.‎
