Diamonds took the top six spots at a recent Christie’s auction, which saw the highest number of bidders for any New York Jewels Online sale in the company’s history.

A round brilliant-cut, 11.46-carat, E-color, SI2-clarity diamond ring was the top seller, bringing in $300,000, Christie’s said Wednesday. That figure matched the high estimate for the jewel, which was sold without reserve. In total, the sale garnered $5.2 million.

An emerald-cut, 10.31-carat, J-color, VS1-clarity diamond ring went for $237,500, well above its $180,000 upper estimate, and a pair of earrings, each featuring a square emerald-cut, 5.02-carat, H-color, VS1-clarity diamond, achieved $212,500, within its estimate.

Rounding out the top six were an additional three diamonds offered with no reserve price. Those included a round brilliant-cut, 5.21-carat, D-color, SI1-clarity diamond ring, which fetched $150,000, within expectations. An emerald-cut, 5.05-carat, D-color, VS2-clarity diamond ring sold for $150,000 — its high estimate — while another emerald-cut diamond ring set with a 5.06-carat, E-color, VVS1-clarity stone brought in $150,000, missing its $170,000 lower estimate.

Christie’s sold 96% of items on offer, with bidders from 28 countries participating in the auction.
