Sotheby’s Hires Asia Jewelry Head

RAPAPORT... Sotheby’s has appointed Wenhao Yu as deputy chairman of
jewelry for Asia, to help strengthen its expertise and sourcing capabilities
and expand its business in the region.
Yu was previously at Poly Auction Hong Kong, where he founded and headed its jewels and prestige collection department.
Prior to that role, he cofounded the jewels and watches department at Poly
Auction Beijing.
“Our jewelry team will benefit immensely from [Yu’s]
extensive business connections, profound industry experience, as well as his
outstanding track record,” Kevin Ching, CEO of Sotheby’s Asia, said Monday.
