Jewelers of America (JA) held its annual Fine Jewelry Preview at the Press Lounge in the Ink48 Hotel in New York City. The Cultured Pearl Association of America showcased pearl jewelry, including a natural-colored pink pearl ring with diamond accents embedded in the pearl, set in a diamond and gold shank by Imperial Pearl, and upscale diamond and pearl creations by Jewelmer. The Silver Promotion Service (SPS) displayed affordable luxury from its designer members, including pieces with a contemporary flair by Jorge Revilla and Paz Collective, as well as pieces with a more tribal feeling from the Samuel B. Collection. Platinum Guild International USA (PGI) was on hand with platinum and diamond jewelry that included several engagement rings with a bit of edge — a yellow heart diamond with a pavé halo set at an angle and a diamond with a flexible link chain band, both by Harry Kotlar. The JA highlighted jewelry trends that included cuffs, cocktail rings and fringe, as well as yellow and rose gold.

In keeping with fall fashion’s passion for all hues of brown, New York–based design house Steven Royce is highlighting its collection of brown diamond jewelry. The sparkle of the brown diamonds gives a lift to sedate shades of this autumn color, making it as lively as the season’s falling leaves. The subtle hues of brown diamond jewelry make it a favorite all year round, adding an understated elegance to any outfit that is classic and timeless.
Zodiac sign and birthstone pieces are always among the most popular of all personalized jewelry. Deirdre Hanrahan founded WYS JewelryWhat’s Your Sign? — a firm that specializes in birthstone and zodiac jewelry. Each zodiac sign sparkles in diamonds set in silver or gold. Another collection of pendants gives birthstone jewelry a new spin. A pendant features birth-month gemstones showcased inside a disk that features diamond accents on the outside of the disk. Hanrahan designed the jewelry to emulate positive energy and to represent the energetic forces of our constantly changing world and our individual evolution within the world.
The orchid is a flower of mystery and beauty. Jewelry designer Jack Vartanian, in partnership with Brazilian fashion designer Pedro Lourenço, has created the Orchid Collection of three-dimensional, sculptural and highly detailed jewelry in a hyper-realistic interpretation of this exotic flower. The designing duo were inspired by the British artist Marc Quinn, who is known for his hyper-realistic art. At the heart of each orchid is a diamond, a design detail found throughout the collection, which is available in rose gold vermeil, black rhodium silver or 18-karat white gold with diamonds on the petals.
