Designer Lines

By Amber Michelle
Interpreting luxury in a modern way is the hallmark of Italian design firm Mattioli. Designer Licia Mattioli brings her love of art and culture from the past into the present in her newest special collection “Les Epoques,” which is a journey through the 1920s, 1940s and 1960s embodied in three rings. The first ring is influenced by the Art Nouveau movement and showcases an aquamarine in rose gold that pays homage to the swirling lines of naturalism and Rococo. A second ring highlights a rhodolite garnet in an oversized, linear gold setting reminiscent of 1940s architecture. The final ring is a tribute to colorful pop art of the 1960s, with a morganite in a setting of multicolored enamels. Mattioli also introduced the last ring of the seasons, which is spring, to the Arcimboldo collection, inspired by the artist of the same name. The ring is composed of pastel gemstones that create the face of the season of rebirth.

Designer Alexandra Mor celebrates the fifth anniversary of her collection with a debut at New York City’s Bergdorf Goodman department store. Mor has created a capsule collection for the retail launch entitled Color Stories, which showcases her limited edition and one-of-a-kind jewels. The intricately detailed pieces are an ode to femininity, with curvy forms and the soft colors of gemstones that include rose quartz, rutilated quartz, moonstone, coral, aquamarine and pearls often embellished with diamonds and set in 18-karat gold or platinum. All of the jewelry is handcrafted in New York City by master artisans who bring her modern classic style from concept to reality.
